Here are solutions to the four questions our customers most frequently ask!

I UPGRADED MY SOFTWARE AND NOW IT IS ASKING TO BE REGISTERED. WHAT DO I DO NOW? The Quick&Easy upgrade is designed to install seamlessly over your existing program.  If this install is done correctly, Quick&Easy will NOT prompt you for your License ID, Password nor will it ask to be unlocked.

If you are getting messages to register and unlock your program, the install was most likely directed to the wrong location.  The most common scenario is installing the upgrade from a “Workstation” and accepting the default path of the local C:\ drive, instead of pointing to the drive\directory on the server where the program is actually installed.   Please reinstall, selecting the correct path of the program.

** Other reasons for the program prompting you to unlock:

  • The path to the program has changed (i.e. a new server, or the drive mapping changed).  If this is the reason, you will need to call Tech Support.

  • The program will run in demo-mode if you have exceeded the allowable amount of users defined by your license agreement.  Please make sure you do not have Quick&Easy open more times than is allowed.

I CAN'T UNLOCK MY PROGRAM AFTER INSTALLING AN UPGRADE. WHAT DO I DO NEXT? The Quick&Easy upgrade is designed to install seamlessly over your existing program.  If this install is done correctly, Quick&Easy will NOT prompt you for your License ID, Password nor will it ask to be unlocked.

HOW CAN I FIND MY NEW FORMS? If your list of forms does not automatically update to display the newly revised forms included in your upgrade, you will need to do the following:

  • Follow the instructions that were printed on the flyer included with your upgrade package.    --OR--

  • Locate the drive\directory where Quick&Easy is installed. (Hint: If you are not sure of the exact location of your program, right-click on the Quick&Easy icon located on your desktop and select Properties.  From the Shortcut tab, read the entire path listed for Target.  This is the location of your program.)

  • Open My Computer and browse to the location of the Quick&Easy program.  Locate the Template.dat file.  Right-click and select to Rename.  Rename the file (for example: Template.old).  Return to your Desktop screen and launch the program.  You should see the new revised list of forms!
