Troubleshooting tips for PAWC printing problems…

If you are having difficulty printing out the Pennsylvania Worker’s Compensation Forms, specifically problems with the bar codes, follow the instructions below:

Windows 3.1x instructions

  1. Double click on the Control Panel icon in the Main Group.
  2. Double click on the Printers icon.
  3. Inside the Printers screen, click on your default printer once, then click on the Setup button.
  4. In setup, click on the Options button. Under Options, there should be a box labeled Graphics Mode. Click on the drop down list and select Raster instead of HPGL-2.
  5. Then select Print True Type as Graphics in the bottom of that window. Click on OK.
  6. Try to print the form. If the bar codes are still unclear, you may want to decrease the resolution of your printer from 600 dpi to 300 dpi. This option is also under the Setup button in Printers.

Windows ’95 instructions

  1. Click on Start, Settings and then Printers.
  2. Click with your right mouse button on the icon for your default printer. Select Properties from the menu.
  3. Under Properties, select Graphics. Under Graphics Mode (at the bottom) select Use Raster Graphics.
  4. Then select the Fonts tab. Under Fonts, select Print True Type as Graphics.
  5. Try to print the form. If the bar codes are still unclear, you may want to decrease the resolution of your printer from 600 dpi to 300 dpi. This option is also under the Graphics tab in Properties.
